Find out about a social care needs assessment

A needs assessment is a meeting between you and a care professional to understand what type of support you may need to live independently.

You can also find support on the Islington Directory

About the social care needs assessment

We understand you want to continue living in your own home, staying as independent as possible, but sometimes you might need some extra support.

That’s why Islington council can support you to:

  • learn new skills and abilities,
  • stay connected with your local community, family and friends,
  • enjoy hobbies and interests
  • make the best use of equipment and technology

So, if you feel you need some extra support, or would like to discuss the options available, you can ask the council for a needs assessment.

You can also find great social care services in your area on the Islington Directory without an assessment.
