Elections on 2 May

Elections for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly members, as well as the by-election for Hillrise ward, will take place on Thursday 2 May.

You must now show photo ID when you vote at polling stations. See a full list of accepted forms of ID. You can also apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate in place of photo ID. The deadline to apply for this is 5pm, Wednesday 24 April.

Older Person's Discount

If you are state pension age or older, you may be eligible for £100 off your council tax bill. This is known as the Older Person's Discount.

It is worth up to £100 a year off your bill, or if your bill is under £100 it will cover the total of your bill.

To qualify:

you must be liable for council tax on 1 April of the year you are applying for
you must be state pension age or over
you must be living in the property and this property must be your main or only home.
