Annual voter registration canvass 2024

Find out when Islington’s Electoral Services team will start the annual household canvass and what you have to do to make sure you can vote in upcoming elections.

We will be starting the annual household canvass in September 2024. We will send all households a letter by post or email.

Fill in the form as soon as you get it so that we have the correct voter information for you on the electoral register.

How we will contact you

The email we send you will come from 'Islington Electoral Services' at islington.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk.

If we have your mobile number, you may receive a text message from ‘Islington’

How to respond

This is different than registering to vote. You must do this even if you are already on the electoral register.

  • The quickest and easiest way to respond is online at Household Response. You will need your security codes from the postal form or email.
  • If you can't respond online, you can use the phone number on the form or return the completed form by post to: Electoral Services, London Borough of Islington, Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD.
  • If you need help filling in the form, phone 020 7527 3110.

If you do not respond straight away, we will send you reminders and may visit in person to make sure we have the right details for your household.

If you no longer live at the property

If you receive an email or text message from us and you no longer live at the property, please let us know by email at electoral.services@islington.gov.uk so that we can remove your old details from the electoral register.

Adding new names

If you add new names to the form, these new residents will not be included on the electoral register until they register to vote at the new address.

We will send an individual application by email or by post to all new eligible residents but you can also complete an individual application online instead at the GOV.UK 'Register to vote' page.
