Mildmay community plan
The Mildmay Community Plan has a list of projects funded by developer contributions that your local councillors want to make happen. This is because they think the projects will improve your area and enhance the lives of everyone who lives and works here.
The list of projects is split into three sections.- Awaiting funding – projects that councillors are minded to support depending on availability of funds but have not yet made any allocations towards.
- In progress – projects that have been funded and are ongoing.
- Completed – projects that are now finished.
Awaiting funding
Petherton Road green improvements
- Up to £100,000
- Improvements to the 600 metre long green space which runs through the middle of Petherton Road E5. Improvements are likely to include planting, accessibility improvements and other works

St. Jude’s street garden improvements
- Project started 2023
- £231,100
- Improvements to St. Jude’s street garden improvements, including new play equipment, planting, seating and footpath
Hathersage Court Remedial works
- Project started 2023
- £184,136 allocated
- Funds for remedial and improvement works at Hathersage Court, including re-building the partially demolished wall at the entrance to Besant Court, carrying out necessary works to bring remaining communal area at the rear of Besant Court back into use, provide additional cycle storage facilities, and various other works.
Mildmay tree planting programme 24/25
- Project started 2024
- £28,000 allocated
- Retrofit/Re-instatement of 10 existing tree pits which require maintenance work to be brought back into use, as well as purchasing trees for those pits
Completed
King Henry’s adventure playground
- Project completed 2023
- £125,000 allocated
- Improvements to the facilities at the King Henry’s adventure playground. Improvements included replacement of the boiler, installation of new floodlights and replacement of the boundary fencing
Newington Green playground improvements
- Project completed 2023
- £75,000 allocated
- Refurbishment and improvement of the Newington Green playground, with a focus on providing a wider range of outdoor play opportunities for younger children in the area
Mildmay Estates improvements fund
- £63,000 allocated
- Project completed 2023
- Funding for various minor estate improvements in Mildmay ward. The majority of this funding was used for improvements to the outdoor spaces at Mildmay Street estate
