What You Will Learn  

Essential Skills: Master the key responsibilities of a post-production assistant, including managing diaries, coordinating travel, tracking media assets, and supporting post-production teams. 

Industry Brief: Work on a real-world project brief, developing the ability to interpret creative requirements and deliver high-quality results.  

Practical Experience: Gain hands-on training in tasks such as creating and managing post-production documents, liaising with vendors, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.  

What You Will Get  

Hands-On Training: Learn practical skills such as tracking footage and media drives, managing schedules, reconciling petty cash, and organising logistics and resources. You will gain experience in handling confidential materials, working with media libraries, and assisting in the delivery of final production assets.  

Clear Understanding of the Role: By the end of the course, you will have a solid grasp of the day-to-day duties of a post-production assistant/runner and the confidence to succeed in the role.  

Work Placement Opportunities: All participants will have the opportunity to apply for a 10-week paid placement with a leading post-production house, gaining invaluable industry experience.  

Portfolio and Career Support: Build a professional portfolio to showcase your skills and receive guidance on job applications, interviews, and networking to help you secure your first role in the industry.  

Programme Entry requirements: 

All participants will need to have the following starting points:  

  • Have a clear command of English and be able to write and communicate in English 
  • Be able to navigate software menu systems and be willing to use problem-solving techniques. This course will be delivered using Apple Macs or PCs. 
  • Have experience of using digital office software such as Microsoft Office, Google docs or similar. 
  • Able to work as part of a team 
  • Be able to attend all sessions on the dates specified.  

Key Dates: 

Applications close on 23 February 2025. 

Information and interview dates: 5-12 March (you must be available to attend one of these sessions in person). 

Course dates: 24 March – 17 April. This is a full time course Monday-Friday 10am-4pm. You must be committed to completing a full time course to join this programme. 

Internship interviews: week commencing 28 April 

Internship dates (if successful): 12 May – 18 July
