Improvements to the website and search

We’ve made some improvements to our website to make it quicker and easier to find what you need when visiting.

This is first in a series of improvements to online services, so we'd love to know what you think of these changes and whether they have helped you do what you needed to do today. We’ll use this feedback to continue to improve things in the future.

Complete a short survey to let us know what you think – it should take no more than five minutes to complete. Thank you for your help.

Visiting Islington Museum

Information about what's on, where we are, visiting hours and accessibility.

What's on

Islington Museum's permanent display includes objects and stories from Islington’s local history, from prehistory to today. Most of our collection is from the 1700s onwards.

Meet me on the green: 900 years in the heart of Clerkenwell

'Meet me on the green' is a look at Clerkenwell’s history through the themes of water, protest, and entertainment. It pairs murals painted by Hugh Myddelton Primary School pupils with our collections. Many of the objects on display are newly acquired or have never been displayed before.

The exhibition is on until 14 November 2023. It was created in partnership with Islington Heritage’s 'Clerkenwell Green: 21st Century Common' project.

For more information about our current temporary exhibitions, email islington.museum@islington.gov.uk or call 020 7527 2837.
